Dr. Eilat Mazar and the A.R.K. of God Foundation PartnershipJanuary 16th, 2019
“Mr. Herbert W. Armstrong loves and admires Jerusalem”- that was how Dr. Benjamin Mazar described his very special friend at a November 1974 banquet in Tel Aviv honoring Mr. Armstrong who was once recognized as an international ambassador for world peace without portfolio.
Mr. Armstrong shared that same mutual passion with Dr. Mazar in bringing to the light of day the excavated history of the 5,000-year-old city as well as to “reveal the greatness and the monumental splendor of Jerusalem in the biblical times” buried by rubble since the sacking of the city by Roman Emperor Titus 1,900 years earlier.
Mr. Armstrong’s strong support to Dr. Mazar was primarily based on his firm faithfulness in the fulfillment of the prophecy of Isaiah (Isaiah 2:2-3). Thus, in the abundance of his heart, he was even heard saying, “Jerusalem is a city with a very remarkable history more than almost any other city. The Eternal God Himself says that this city is destined to become the greatest city in the world and in fact in the whole universe. This city is someday going to be the capital of the universe.”
This publication project is wholeheartedly dedicated to the memory of the iron bridge friendship between Mr. Herbert W. Armstrong and Dr. Benjamin Mazar, a joint legacy that continues to this day through the A.R.K. of God Foundation and Dr. Eilat Mazar.
