“And saviours shall come up (offer gifts) on Mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the Lord’s.” (Obadiah 1:21)

AN OPEN LETTER TO THE CHURCHES OF GOD

If you or your organization had a history with Mr. Herbert W. Armstrong and the Worldwide Church of God, please prayerfully read this letter. We, the ARK of God Foundation, are a non-profit, humanitarian organization established in the Philippines.

Our primary objective is to champion our mentor, Mr. Herbert W. Armstrong who passed away on January 1986, by bringing about a revival of his monumental legacy in Jerusalem. Our Foundation’s mission is based on a two-pronged philosophy: (1) That Mr. Armstrong may have a light always in Jerusalem, the city which God have chosen, and (2) To fulfill God’s covenant with him of life and peace.

Our activities are focused in remembering his teachings on God’s give way of life that will bring about peace among the peoples of different races, ethnicity or belief. Currently, the Foundation’s goals are achieved through a partnership with The Jerusalem Foundation and archaeological excavations in Israel. In 2018, we have completed the redesign and renovation of the Children’s Playground in Liberty Bell Park in Jerusalem which was a project of Mr. Armstrong with the former Mayor of Jerusalem, Teddy Kollek.

Many of you still believe that Mr. Armstrong fulfilled the role of end-time Zerubbabel who founded a house for God (Church) which now lay in ruins because of the scattering of the people. In spite of its present state, we think that the rebuilding of the house of God will still be realized as foretold in Zechariah 4:9. “

The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house; his hands shall also finish it; and thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto you.” (Zechariah 4:9)

We believe that this vision will take place on Mount Zion in Jerusalem which is linked to the vision of the 144,000 saints on Mount Zion written in Revelation 14.

Archaeological excavations are widespread all over Israel. Incidentally, we are the only organization, which had a history with Mr. Armstrong and has a continuing involvement in archaeological works on Mount Zion. We have participated in Mount Zion dig since 2015. Last year, we have started an on-going partnership with archaeologist and professor, Dr. Shimon Gibson, who manages the excavations.

The goal of this year’s summer excavations in July is to excavate the Iron Age level dating from the destruction of the First Temple-period city by the Babylonians in 586 BCE. Dr. Gibson expressed that the principal objective is to “uncover as much as we can of the exciting and very rich Biblical layer (7th to early 6th centuries BCE) at the site. Last season (2019) we got down to a small patch of this very interesting layer, with the finding of gold-and-silver jewelry and arrowheads. This entire level will need to be wet-sieved.

We anticipate finding inscribed bullae and other finds of that nature. The burnt level we are going to be digging appears to be the same as the Babylonian destruction wrought by Nebuchanezzar’s forces in 586 BCE:”

“And he burnt the house of the Lord [i.e. the Temple], and the king’s house; and all the houses of Jerusalem, even every great man’s house, burnt he with fire” (2 Kings 25:9).

This year we are opening the door for everyone who wants to become a partner by supporting this summer excavations on Mount Zion through donations. Any amount which you would like to share to this endeavor will be very much appreciated.

We will update all partners every step of the development of the work on Mount Zion in July with reports and photographs of the finds. We hope that you will consider becoming a part of this summer excavations on Mount Zion with a vision of rebuilding the house of God.

“Who is there among you of all his people? his God be with him, and let him go up (offer gifts) to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of the Lord God of Israel, (he is the God,) which is in Jerusalem.” (Ezra 1:3)

“And saviours shall come up (offer gifts) on mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the Lord’s.” (Obadiah 1:21)

Thank you for your consideration and support.

Sincerely,

ARK of God Foundation
